Christian Education Ministry


Christian Education is designed to help believers prepare for their walk of faith and obedience. This department of Christian Education is committed to all age levels of teaching ministry. Courses and seminars are designed to equip our disciples (members) to fulfill the ministry of Jesus Christ in the world. The goal of this department of Christian Education is to present those elements of discipleship that leads the equipping of the saints and the development of a practical plan of discipleship where members have an opportunity to be engaged in prayer, study, worship, and life-long learning, seeking to carry out the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ.

Sunday School Ministry 

This ministry provides a systematic approach to the studying and understanding the Bible, ultimately leading to spiritual growth and maturity.   Classes begin at 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. each Sunday.

New Member’s Class

A mandatory four classes for new-comers uniting with OCC.     They learn about the history of the church, the mission of the church, understanding the plan of Salvation and Christian Discipleship. Answering questions like: What must disciples believe? Who must a disciple be? What must a disciple do? And where does the church stand on certain issues?We are a bible reading and believing people. Where the Word of God Speaks, we speak.   Where the word of God is silent, we are silent. Classes begin at 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. each Sunday.

Vacation Bible School 

An annual week of learning, training, and teaching the word of God. By using the Bible, visual arts, and crafts to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are open to the church members and the community, beginning with pre-k thru senior adult. With a curriculum suitable for all ages have the same theme throughout the week.


Discipleship Training

Our Discipleship training is about making new disciples through a progressive Christian Education ministry, under the leadership of faithful teachers who serve on rotating basis. Our Bible Study is designed around a discipleship curriculum, using the latest computer assisted multimedia approaches. The membership’s educational progress is tracked and assessed through a new membership course, a right hand of fellowship and church pinning ceremony, with advancing levels of courses, up through completion of 116 credits hours, which leads to the Oakwood Discipleship Diploma.


The call to Discipleship compels us to share our faith and serve others in the home, the community and the world. The purpose of our Discipleship Training isto nurture in faith, grow in knowledge and enrich through Holy Spirit to inspire and empower people to live as Disciples of Jesus Christ.
